2005 Flat Fender Frenzy - 1 |
|
The 2005 Flat Fender Frenzy was held August 26 through 28. As usual the group arrived Friday afternoon and evening. We finally did a Willys caravan to Lee's Steak House in Wellston. There we ate a good meal and swapped stories. After dinner we returned to camp and were up late inspecting people's vehicles. Saturday Morning it was up by 6:00am and off to McDonalds for breakfast. Then before 8:00 am it's off to the Richland Furnace trail for the morning ride. We started Saturday with 9 JeepsŪ but Steve Asprey had transmission trouble. He and Ric Meagley went back to camp to see if they could find the problem. It seems a garage gremlin (TM) had removed the 3rd gear syncro after Steve had replaced it during a last minute rebuild. So you will only see 7 JeepsŪ in the following picture..
Notice the open space near the right side that's where Steve and Ric would have been. Now let's introduce the brave souls that take 50+ year old Willys iron where it belongs. (as usual Click on a picture for a larger view) Notably absent in the pictures above is Steve Aspery's 2A shown below Damn garage gremlins (TM)
